I wore this look to work the other day as my tribute to Valentine's Day - it's about as festive as I get, guys. Hello, Singles Awareness Day!

I was very excited to finally receive my Tanya Burr Lip Glosses in the mail, and couldn't wait to incorporate them into my look. Can I just say, from a non-lip gloss wearing gal, that these are so good? I don't even normally wear lip glosses, but the colour is just fantastic and they smell divine. Like summer, my friends.

So, onto the look. It's been really warm here in Sydney recently so a good base is a must. I started by using the Laura Mercier Radiance Primer and as my base, the Loreal True Match Foundation. I can't stop raving about this foundation - it is a serious good 'un. For concealer, I opted for the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer for any blemishes or redness, and the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer for a bit of under eye brightness.

Onto the brows, I used (as always) the Anastasia Brow Wiz with a bit of MAC 'Expresso' to fill it out. For the eyes, I started with the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in 'Pomegranate Punk' and blended it out for a nice base. I used a tiny bit of MAC 'Omega' to blend out the edges, and then for the very centre of the lid, I blended in MAC 'Cranberry' for a hint of shimmer and brightness.
I then used MAC's 'Teddy' Eyeliner on the outer edges of my waterline, and on my tightline. I don't like going too heavy on eyeliner as it doesn't suit my eye shape, but by doing it this way, it emphasises my lashes and makes them look slightly fuller than they are.
I finished off with a thick coating (is there any other way?) of Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara .

I always powder my t-zone, and for that I use the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. It's also great at setting concealer under eyes. I wanted quite a deep colour on my cheeks so I opted for Nars 'Deep Throat', I feel like this always gives me such a deep, rich colour without being too heavy, and as my eyes were quite pink based already, I didn't want it to be overbearing. I popped a bit of MAC's Mineralise Skinfinish in 'Soft & Gentle' onto my cheekbones, as per usual. I can't get enough of this stuff sometimes!

Lastly, I just popped Tanya Burr's Lip Gloss in 'Afternoon Tea' on bare lips for a subtle, but pink-ish finish. It's a really beautiful, soft, perfect-for-any-occasion pink and I'm sure I will be getting a lot of wear out of it. I also picked up 'Chic' which is a more nude, with hints of brown shade, and am already attempted to go back and purchase more shades! Shame the nail polish doesn't ship to Australia, because the shades are so gorgeous!

I should mention I lasted about ten minutes before I had to put my hair up - so damn hot here.

Hope everyone has a lovely Valentine's Day, either with their loved ones or not! I am going to listen to the entire collection of Quentin Tarantino soundtracks up loud, and cook myself a delicious healthy dinner for one (fist pump).

  2. Girl, this is such a beautiful look! The lip colour really suits you and I'm loving the berry/brown eyeshadow combo. I don't really watch Tanya Burr's videos anymore, to be honest. I think she became too YouTube famous and changed, haha. Same with Zoella. Nevertheless, her products look amazing on you, so I guess that's the important thing, right? :) And oh man, it's been so hot lately here too. I'm loving it because it means good lighting for photographing for the blog, but I haven't been wearing a lot of makeup. I really miss it, but I just can't be bothered in this heat!

  3. Thanks lovely! I do see what you mean about them changing, but Tanya Burr was probably the YouTuber who first reaaaally got me excited about makeup, and I've learnt a lot from her videos,so I'll probably always stay loyal, haha! And honestly, her products are really quite good. I'm more impressed than I thought I'd be.

And the heat has put me off makeup too, oh God. I've been wearing like, the bare minimum almost all week. I literally wore this for about 6 hours and then couldn't wait to go home and take it off haha :x
